Carolina Performing Arts is a leading university presenter, establishing close relationships with both acclaimed and emerging artists around the world and transforming the role of the arts in 21st century higher education. Since our inception in 2005, we have presented 659 performances by 409 artists from 55 countries, commissioned 51 new works, and hosted 42 world and U.S. premieres. We have provided $10 tickets to 165,579 students and private gifts have underwritten over $6 million in student tickets. Chapel Hill is not simply a stop on an artist’s tour. It is a place where world-renowned performers come to engage in dialogue, share their creative processes, and meaningfully interact with our students and faculty.
