Ayden HIstorical & Arts Society

Description

The Ayden Historical & Arts Society filed with the NC Department of the Secretary of State Articles of Incorporation as a nonprofit corporation and received acceptance June 13, 2016; Our purpose is to establish a museum in Ayden, NC. We have secured a historic building for the museum and have several exhibits established and many in progress. Our desire is get volunteers to help with needed research for our military exhibit.

Volunteer Activities

Our desire is to get volunteer(s) to help with needed research for the military exhibit. Using cemeteries census available at the public library &/or computer, the volunteer would compile a list of Ayden veterans who served from the Civil War to the present. Ayden Churches are also a possibility for research on their veterans. After conducting the research the volunteer would compile the data and organize it in a useable spread sheet for use in the military exhibit. Collating the data by wars is another possibility.
