Wreaths Across America
Description

Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at hundreds of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. This year Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery has joined with Wreaths Across America to honor our veterans locally. Our ceremony will be held on December 14th at noon. There are many opportunities for people of all ages to volunteer to be a part of this wonderful tribute.

Volunteer Activities
1. Cataloguing the photos of veteran head stones. (Can be done from home computer) 2. Placing locator flags at all veteran head stones to enable us to identify where wreaths will go on day of ceremony. This will probably start the weekend of Dec 7th. 3. Volunteer to lay wreaths at veteran's graves on Dec 14th. 4. Volunteer to help collect wreaths, when requested. 5. Assist with various duties on day of ceremony (directing guests where to sit, setting up chairs, etc...)
