First Baptist Church in Durham periodically offers a free health clinic to the community that involves the use of a mobile medical clinic and a mobile dental clinic. We invite members of the community, and medical professionals in our church (alongside many other volunteers) minister to the physical needs of those who attend.

Volunteer Activities

Health Fair - The dental bus volunteers meet and greet attendees, triage what services would be helpful, and the medical bus staff assist with prepping the space, cleaning the space after each patient, and the doctors/attendants assess and perform dental functions (cleaning, pulling teeth, etc.) as needed. Similarly, the health bus volunteers take blood pressure, test blood cholestoral and sugar levels, provide health counseling, and make referrals to nearby clinics.
