2023 World Hunger Day
Description

Durham’s World Hunger Day event was held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Durham Central Park. World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide to commemorate the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. Durham's goal is also to educate the community about food insecurity and provide accessible resources for families. This is a family friendly event free and open to the public. There will be, free food vendors, food trucks, activities for the kids, entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and more.

Volunteer Activities
Volunteers are needed as floaters to perform any job on an as-needed basis if help is required. This can include: filling in for no-shows, supporting all vendors with their supplies/materials, helping direct people, directing visitors to the restrooms as well as monitoring cleanliness in the restrooms. This position may require standing for extended periods of time and walking long distances.
