Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity
Description

Founded in 1983, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity was the first Habitat affiliate in North Carolina. Through Habitat homeownership and home repair programs, nearly 1,600 adults and children in Buncombe County have achieved the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future. A decent place to call home and an affordable mortgage enables Habitat homeowners to save more, invest in education, pursue opportunities and have greater financial stability.

Volunteer Activities
Our construction volunteers work either with our New Home Contruction or Home Repair program. New Home Construction volunteers are working on building homes from the ground up whereas Home Repair volunteers are working in owner occupied homes to complete much needed repairs. No experience is necessary, just come prepared to work hard and have a great time!
